The Internet and Social Media is a HUGE playground to navigate. And as creatives we are spoilt for choice when it comes to where we find inspiration, motivation and collaborations with other likeminded souls.
Instagram gives quilters a way to stay connected, share accomplishments, travesties and knowledge. And in a world of online trolls and keyboard warriors, it seems that they are just not welcome in the Instagram Quilting Community. Personally, I have found nothing but supportive, kind, caring souls that are happy to share opinions, advice and frequent virtually high-fives for a job well done.
So lets check out my favourite quilting accounts on Instagram!
I urge you to follow these guys and get involved with the Instagram Quilting Community
@suzyquilts
Suzy Quilts
Suzy’s Instagram account is amazing. She is the creator and designer of the hugely popular “Camp Fire Quilt” and more recently “RockSteady Quilt”. Her photos are fresh, uplifting and bright. Her fabric choices and the quilts she creates literally make me happy. And Suzy’s dog ‘Scrap’ is the scruffiest, cutest little quilting sidekick you ever did see!
You can also check out Suzy’s website here. Suzy’s website is easy to navigate with a shop to purchase her amazing patterns, lots of inspiration and tips throughout her blog.

@misterdomestic
Mr Domestic
I’m gonna admit to having a secret ‘quilting crush’ on Mathew Boudreaux from Mister Domestic! And what’s not to love, seriously! Not only are his photographs beautifully shot, his quilting skills are Level 1000, AND he has recently designed a fabric line for Art Gallery Fabrics which is divine. Add this to the fact that he is humble, grateful, funny and a family man, you’ve got yourself a rad Instagram quilting account. Mathew is also very quick to support others, share their work and lift other creatives UP! Alright. Imma stop gushing now.
Do yourself a favour and check out the Mister Domestic website too.

@morgankellyhandmade
Morgan Kelly Handmade
I love Morgan’s quilts! They appeal to me with their clean lines and uncomplicated nature. Where Morgan really excels (in my humble opinion!) is her ability to pair the right fabric with the right pattern. She lets the fabric speak for itself and boy does it SING! Her photography is also clear and uncomplicated, so what you’ll find on her Instagram account is fabric to lust over combined with beautifully calm quilt design.
If you just can’t handle life without owning one of Morgan’s creations, customers can shop for her quilts in the Morgan Kelly Handmade Etsy Store.

@emily_dennis_
Emily Dennis from Quilty Love
Emily is the quilting superstar behind Quilty Love. What I love most about Emily’s Instagram feed is that she is just so relatable. She’s a mum who loves to make quilts. I’m a Mum who loves to make quilts! Emily is a BOSS who quit her day job to follow her quilting dream and she is just kicking butt. So not only is there quilting inspiration in abundance, but Emily’s personal journey which she shares quite openly is the real inspiration. And did I mention she’s a professional photographer…? Goes without saying that her Instagram photos are what dreams are made of.

@missouriquiltco
Missouri Star Quilt Company
Jenny is the face of The Missouri Star Quilt Company. From humble beginnings, Jenny and her family have built the Missouri Star Quilt Company to what I consider to be an authority on all things quilty! Following along on their Instagram feed is a must if you’re looking for more traditional patchwork and free tutorials. Jenny releases a new tutorial every Friday. The videos are easy to follow along and full of tips and knowledge. You just gotta love a company that gives back so much to the quilting community! oh, and I love how Jenny refers to quilt patterns as “suggestions”!
The Missouri Star Quilt Company website is also a one stop shop for fabric, patterns, tutorials and tips. Check it out here.

@cottonandsteel

If you’re a chronic fabric hoarder, you might wanna avoid this Instagram account! Modern fabric giants, Cotton & Steel have an amazing Instagram feed featuring their popular and coveted fabric ranges. @makemodernmagazine
Make Modern Magazine
As the name suggests, this is the Instagram feed of Make Modern Magazine. This Australian publication is the real deal, with professional photos showcasing gorgeous projects. You’ll also never miss an issue with updates of sale dates and upcoming projects that are to be featured. They also run frequent competitions and giveaways, and who doesn’t like free stuff!?
Make Modern Magazine has a website too, readers will find links to their pattern gallery, blog and online shop.

@azcoquilting
AZCO Quilting
Mary from AZCO Quilting does amazing things with solid fabrics and geometric shapes. If you’re a fan of modern homewares with an Aztec feel, then Mary is your gal. Besides her gorgeous cushions, wall hangings & quilts, what I love about the AZCO Quilting Instagram feed is the landscapes. Mary will often photograph her quilts outside in the Arizona landscape and for an Aussie girl, I find the resulting photographs just glorious!
If you lust after what you see on Instagram @azcoquilting customers can purchase ready made products from the AZCO Quilting Etsy Store

Live Love Sew
@livelovesew
Keera Job is another mum living her dream and I just love following along on her Instagram feed! Keera is an artist, a pattern designer and has designed fabric for Riley Blake. Now I may be biased (Keera and I share the same hometown!) but she is a clever creator who’s enthusiasm is contagious! You really get a sense of Keera balancing her role as Mum, and as a Girl Boss in the creative world. The LiveLoveSew Instagram feed is filled with gorgeous fabrics and pretty handmade makes including quilts and hand painted florals (swoon!)
Keera’s website livelovesew.com.au features her Blog and Tutorials

There is so much sewing inspiration and quilting gorgeousness on Instagram! These 10 are my absolute favourite and will give you a place to start… But say no to housework and real life for an hour of two and treat yourself to an Instagram exploring session!
AND if you feel that way inclined, I’d love you to pop into @rosaleesroomand say HI!
Get involved in the Instagram community, you never know who you might “meet”.
Comment and like and virtual high-five someone, you might just make their day!
